People have asked me a lot about my process on social media - its not that its a secret, its just kind of psychotic and difficult to explain. Each piece is made differently and some are made from each other and some from several put together and so on. I add and remove components as I go. I go back and forth between multiple mediums and platforms, multiple times and then back again. You can see pieces and threads in some or at least I can and I hope you can feel that they are there. There are layers upon layers and I would say it’s definitely more intuitive than technique or technical. Some of the pieces you see contain up to a dozen images, and those individual images may also be comprised of images with which I compose color, texture, ambiance, etc.
I use photos from years of street photography, mostly in NYC, Paris and LA. I’m a photographer first. I try to make sure each photo is solid enough to stand on its own before it moves forward. Then the crazy comes in and I put it into the ai software. I’m not a prompter in any sense. I use almost no words. As few as I can get away with. I try to confuse and contrast the learning to get different results. I have the vision in my mind, I know what I’m looking for when I’m building the photos and I’m using the software as any other. I am relentless. From there…
Process is intuitive. Always working 24/7, no matter what or where, shooting or planning or watching. Lights angles faces places feelings people are what drive the art. The photo usually dictates where I go but I choose and often shoot specifically for what I want to create 1000 steps down the line. Once I have the right photos for what I’m picturing I start editing for light and color, then will combine several edited photos using ai to build the scene I’m looking for, adding specific details I’m pulling from different photos, can take thousands of edits to get what I want, then I go back and digitally paint or draw details into the art, then will print and hand paint and add elements.
I tend to know exactly what I want before I start and can take weeks/months in the process to get there…
Each image is
deeply personal and unique
If there’s a difference in style it’s because the photos represent the places and moments in time in my life or my head and the lives of those I love or hate or lost or strangers and the world around me.
Each photo also has the influence of whatever was happening in my mind at that moment referencing my own past while taking that photo - so what I was reflecting back on within myself and the world, and the subject - invisible layers injecting their souls into the deepest, darkest corners
Also music. Always music.
Conflict and contrast, control, freedom, time
Layers - of time, feelings, feelings in time, people, themes, icons, imagery, mediums, references, eras, hi and low, music, sounds, textures - i am a tactile person -

Colors play a big part
Contrasting the beauty and lightness that is always present in the world despite the ugliness, cruelty - also a reminder to myself happiness is a choice and effort
Don’t want to over explain, I want you to feel whatever you feel
Not in a box no rules no category necessarily fuck that
if I feel it - I have to feel it first, won’t put it out if it’s empty…
